After over 100 years in the French Quarter, the New Orleans Fire Department is officially relocating its headquarters next week to a newly renovated building on City Park Avenue.
The fire department’s headquarters, at 317 Decatur St., will have its final day on Wednesday, Aug. 5, officially closing at 2 p.m. After a five-day pause, administrative operations will begin again at the new headquarters at 401 City Park Ave. on Aug. 10, NOFD said in a news release.
During the transition period, emergency response will not be affected, and even after the headquarters move, Engine 29 will continue to remain at the Decatur Street location, NOFD said…
