Riverside County man convicted of killing off-duty LAPD officer

A Riverside County man was convicted of shooting and killing an off-duty Los Angeles Police Department Officer after the policeman told him to stop tagging a sidewalk.

Cristian Facundo, 27, of Temecula, was convicted of his crimes on July 31. He is expected to be sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole, the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office said.

The series of incidents began on July 27, 2019, just after midnight. Facundo was joined by others as the group vandalized a car belonging to an ex-boyfriend of one of the women in the group, authorities said…
