Caught on Camera: Waterspout forms at Battleship Park

MOBILE, Ala. (WKRG) – Another round of strong storms on the Gulf Coast Friday produced gusty winds and waterspout. One spout was captured on a WKRG weather camera.

Just after 3:00 PM Friday afternoon, a severe storm tracked across Downtown Mobile. A severe thunderstorm warning issues warning of 60 mph wind gusts.

At 3:10 PM, the Chief Meteorologist Ed Bloodsworth and Meteorologist Sam Parker of the News 5 First Alert Storm Team were tracking some turbulent clouds over the Mobile River and Battleship Park. From our Air Specialty Camera at the Park, our team noticed tiny pieces of grass and leaves flying through the air.
