Suspect arrested after deadly double shooting at southwest Atlanta home

ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) — A man has been arrested after two people were shot at a southwest Atlanta home on Saturday night.

At around midnight, Atlanta police were called to the house in the 1000 block of Lawton Avenue, where they found two men with gunshot wounds. One was taken to the hospital, while the other, 33-year-old Kenderrick Varner, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Officers found and arrested the suspect, 64-year-old Robert Varner. He faces charges of murder, aggravated assault, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon…
