Juvenile charged months after allegedly causing fatal crash in west Charlotte: CMPD

CHARLOTTE (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — A juvenile has been charged eight months after a fatal crash in west Charlotte, according to the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department.

Around 4:15 a.m. on Tuesday, November 4, 2025, officers responded to the 1200 block of Remount Road about a crash involving a 2014 Kia Rio that reportedly struck a utility pole. When they arrived, they found a male juvenile and a 19-year-old girl inside the vehicle, unresponsive.

The boy, whose age was not released, was taken to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries. The girl, Evelin Suseli Mejia Alvarez, was pronounced dead at the scene, officials said.
