If you’ve been reaching for hard seltzers out of habit but wishing they tasted like something, Wild Tide might be exactly what you’ve been looking for.
The new hard ginger beer brand just launched in San Diego, and it’s bringing a genuinely different option to the RTD space – one built around real organic ginger juice, natural fruit juices, and bold flavor that actually delivers.
An Orange Wine Base You Won’t See Coming
Wild Tide uses an orange wine base, which is a pretty unique move in the canned drink world. It’s not something you taste outright – the base just acts as a clean canvas that lets the ginger and fruit flavors do their thing.
The result is something closer to a well-made cocktail than a sparkling water with ambitions. At 5% ABV, gluten-free, and with less sugar than most traditional ginger beers, it’s an easy drink that doesn’t feel like a compromise.
Three Flavors to Try
The launch lineup covers a nice range. Original Ginger Lime is the classic starting point – bright and balanced. Grapefruit Jalapeño brings tart citrus with a real kick of heat (this one’s going to have fans). And Pineapple Passionfruit leans tropical and fruit-forward for when you want something a little more laid-back.
Built for San Diego
Founder Kelsey Chesterfield – a second-generation beverage entrepreneur – created Wild Tide out of a genuine frustration with the current RTD options. Beer felt heavy, hard seltzers lacked flavor, and canned cocktails were too sweet. Wild Tide was built to sit in that gap, and Southern California beach culture was the inspiration. It shows.
