Beloved Coach Tragically Shot Dead In Chicago

A beloved Chicago high school basketball coach is gone. Tim Bankston was found shot dead inside a South Side home at the age of 60.

A friend discovered him around 10 a.m. on July 29 in the Auburn Gresham neighborhood. Bankston had suffered a gunshot wound to the abdomen. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Chicago police are investigating the shooting. Police have made zero arrests so far. The case remains open. Bankston lived in Gary, Indiana. He was visiting a friend’s house when the tragedy unfolded. The friend returned home and found him on the floor.
