SPRINGFIELD, Mo. — Officers report that a juvenile has been hospitalized after an accidental self-inflicted gunshot wound in Springfield on Saturday, Aug. 1.
Springfield police tell Ozarks First the incident began around 9 p.m. when officers attempted a traffic stop near N. Campbell Ave. and W. Olive St.
Law enforcement states that the juvenile, who was armed with a gun, fled from the vehicle during the stop.

The juvenile was later found with an accidental self-inflicted gunshot wound near N. Boonville Ave. and E. Phelps St., according to police.
Authorities said that the juvenile is in the hospital with serious injuries. Police have not released any additional information on the incident at this time…
