UPMC Hamot Hospital has enhanced their security measures with a new visitor check-in system.
The hospital has installed an Evolv Weapons Detection System where visitors will have to go through a screening before entering their facilities.

With a government-issued photo ID, visitors will be assigned a five-digit PIN specific to the patient to sign in with, and be given a badge to wear inside the hospital.
The vice president of operations said this is the next step in ensuring the safety and well-being of those at the hospital.
