A Mobile County constable already facing a federal gun charge is now accused of rape, sexual abuse and unlawfully imprisoning a victim, while prosecutors separately ask a judge to remove him from elected office.
The Mobile County Sheriff’s Office announced Monday that investigators obtained state arrest warrants charging Precinct 31 Constable Albert McCreary, 55, with first-degree rape, first-degree sexual abuse, first-degree unlawful imprisonment and possession of a firearm by a person forbidden to possess one. The warrants were signed Aug. 3.
The charges stem from a sexual assault investigation that was already underway when deputies arrested McCreary on July 28. Investigators had obtained a search warrant for McCreary’s Chevrolet Tahoe in connection with the reported rape…
