Early in the morning on July 31, 2026, California Highway Patrol dispatch issued a regional “Be On the Lookout” broadcast for a vehicle linked to a series of thefts spanning Alameda, Merced, and Stanislaus counties.
Officers assigned to the CHP Modesto Area office located the matching vehicle traveling on Mitchell Road near Whitmore Avenue and attempted to initiate a traffic stop. The driver failed to yield to emergency lights and siren, initiating a vehicle pursuit through the surrounding area. The pursuit concluded when the suspect vehicle collided with an unoccupied parked automobile. Law enforcement personnel confirmed that no injuries occurred as a result of the collision.
