PRICHARD, Ala. (NBC 15) — Prichard leaders are divided over how to move forward after the city’s municipal insurance expired over the weekend. The city council on Friday called for most city vehicles to be parked, but the mayor’s office says city services are continuing as normal. One of the biggest questions now is who will pick up the trash. Residents tell NBC 15 trash pickups have fallen behind.
“We have a great deal of trash piles on the ground,” said Davis.
After Prichard lost its insurance, RDK recalled its trash trucks Prichard was leasing. Now, the mayor is asking the council to approve a 90-day emergency contract with A-1 McDuffie Sanitation.
