CAM Raleigh, a contemporary art museum that opened in 2011 and became a long-standing presence in the city’s Warehouse District, has closed its building to the public and placed the property up for sale, museum leaders confirmed Monday.
The announcement follows years of financial strain that have affected small and mid-sized museums since the COVID-19 pandemic and ensuing response, according to CAM Raleigh Vice Chair Kate Ferguson Boes.
