Syracuse, N.Y. — Three years after transforming a century-old Tipperary Hill tavern into Syracuse’s first rooftop cocktail bar, Emerald Cocktail Kitchen will temporarily close later this month as owner Michele Roesch steps away to focus on her health.
Roesch announced Monday that Emerald, 1333 W. Fayette St., will close after service on Friday, Aug. 21, with plans to reopen in spring 2027 following what she described as a six-month sabbatical.
“I’ve been navigating ongoing health issues while also experiencing significant burnout,” Roesch wrote in a statement on social media. “Over the last few years, my mental and physical health have declined to the point where I can no longer ignore what my body is telling me. It has become clear that it’s time for me to prioritize my health, my family, and myself.”…
