Man arrested in Horizon for false ID and active warrant

EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — A traffic stop in Horizon led to a man’s arrest for giving a false name and birthdate and for having active warrant, Horizon Police said.

At about 4 a.m. on Monday, Aug. 3, a Horizon City police officer conducted a traffic stop along the 14600 block of Horizon Boulevard after seeing a vehicle traveling without a functioning license plate light.

During the stop, the passenger initially provided a false name and date of birth to the officer. After multiple attempts to verify the information were unsuccessful, the officer conducted a consensual search of the vehicle. During the search, the officer found a wallet containing a Texas identification card belonging to the passenger, identified as Frank Soto, age 41.

A records check through dispatch revealed that Soto had an active warrant out of the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office for theft of property…
