LINCOLN, Neb. — Visit Lincoln’s visitors center in the historic Lincoln Station building is feeling the impact of a crash on Friday that damaged the building’s entrance, with foot traffic dropping significantly since the incident.
Visit Lincoln said more than 600 people walked into the visitors center in July. The center was closed Friday and Saturday before reopening Monday, but walk-ins have already dropped sharply, with only about five people stopping in Monday.
“There’s been a little concern on our part about people finding the west side of the building, because that is on the back side of the building,” said Jeff Maul, executive director of Visit Lincoln. “So we’ve just been trying to work with the building operator, the landlord, to come up with some signage as people go down and pick up visitor’s information from our center.”…
