MADISON, Wis. (WFRV) – One driver in Wisconsin now has several citations after hitting a woman and her child while they were inside a crosswalk.
According to a release from the Madison Police Department, officers responded at 3:29 p.m. on July 30 to the area of the North Sherman Avenue and Trailsway intersection for reports of a woman and a toddler being hit by a vehicle.

Officials say the woman was pushing her toddler in a stroller inside a crosswalk with activated caution flashing lights when they were hit by a vehicle, causing them to go airborne.
The woman and her 1-year-old child were treated for only minor injuries. The 41-year-old driver remained on the scene and received several citations, including the following:
- Failure to obey signal
- Unreasonable and imprudent speed
- Failure to wear a seatbelt
- Failure to yield to a pedestrian
- Inattentive driving.
