PORTLAND, Ore. — A semi-truck carrying grain overturned on South Harbor Drive on Monday afternoon just past the intersection with Southwest Naito Parkway, blocking traffic through the area.
The total impacted traffic area wasn’t immediately clear; Portland Fire & Rescue initially posted on X, formerly Twitter, just after 1:30 p.m. and said a crash involving a semi-truck and a sedan was blocking traffic at the intersection of Harbor and Naito, and that Naito was “littered with debris” and the street would be closed.
In subsequent posts, PF&R added photos showing an overturned semi and a flipped car on Harbor Drive, which appeared to be on the curve where the road turns south after crossing Naito. The photos show the overturned truck on the southbound side of the road, with the spilled grain covering the entire northbound side of the road.
The later PF&R posts said police were diverting traffic from the southbound I-5 onramp at Harbor along SW Naito, adding that the incident will hamper traffic access to the city center from northbound Interstate 5…
