BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — The Bakersfield City Council is set to continue discussing a proposed public safety radio tower near a southwest Bakersfield neighborhood during its regular meeting on Wednesday.
The city is looking to upgrade its existing public safety radio system with new infrastructure as the current infrastructure has heavily degraded over the years.

One of the new towers the city is planning to build is a 150-foot-tall lattice tower located at 1000 Buena Vista Rd., in the maintenance yard of the city’s Water Resources Department.
The tower has to be 150 feet tall to avoid environmental obstacles like trees, according to Brady Weston with Motorola Solutions, who’s working as the project’s system engineer…
