Watch: K-9 deputy injured in crash on I-41 released from animal hospital

WAUKESHA, Wis. (CBS 58) — A K-9 deputy injured in a crash on I-41 in Oak Creek was welcomed home Monday, Aug. 3.

K-9 Ryker and his handler, Deputy Mindel, were stopped on I-41, redirecting traffic, when their squad was rear-ended back on July 27.

The Milwaukee County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO) shared video of Ryker leaving WVRC Waukesha Monday, to a group of deputies and supporters.

“Today is a reminder of his incredible resilience, the unbreakable bond between a handler and their K-9 partner, and the unwavering support of this community,” the MCSO wrote…
