LAWRENCE COUNTY, Mo. — A woman from Springfield died early Tuesday morning in an SUV crash on I-44 that sent another passenger to the hospital.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, a 2017 Jeep Patriot was eastbound on I-44 three miles east of Mount Vernon when the crash occurred. At approximately 1:45 a.m., the SUV traveled off the left side of the roadway and overturned, MSHP says.
The driver, a 26-year-old woman from Springfield, was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash. A passenger in the vehicle was taken to Cox South Hospital in Springfield for minor injuries…
