Golden Harvest to get share of Kroger funds to fight child hunger

AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) – Golden Harvest Food Bank will receive new funding to help fight childhood hunger, thanks to a campaign by Kroger.

Kroger’s Atlanta Division announced Tuesday that its “Kick Hunger to the Sidelines” campaign brought in $128,000 between June 1 and July 31. That’s more than two-and-a-half times the original $50,000 target.

The money will be split evenly among eight hunger-relief organizations across Georgia, eastern Alabama and South Carolina…
