STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — Authorities allege that a 23-year-old man from Manhattan tossed a loaded magazine from a gun during a scuffle with police inside an apartment in Clifton.
In a separate incident, Alex Vasquez of Frederick Douglass Boulevard allegedly assaulted an officer who caught him with fireworks on July 4 near the Richmond Terrace Houses in New Brighton.
The most recent encounter with police began when officers were conducting a gun investigation in Clifton. Officers attempted to stop Vasquez as the defendant entered a building on Park Hill Avenue near Sobel Court around 10 p.m. on July 20, according to the criminal complaint…
