Storms with heavy rain drenched Massachusetts on Monday, causing flooding, road closures and a fatal incident in which a tree fell on a woman’s home.
Hampden and Worcester counties were the hardest hit, with communities in both left with rainfall totals of more than 4 inches between late Sunday night and early Tuesday morning, according to the National Weather Service. Bristol, Franklin and Hampshire counties weren’t far behind, with rainfall totals of more than 3 inches recorded in several communities.
