LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – A World War II prisoner of war had finally returned to American soil after 84 years since his death; the remains of U.S. Army Tec5 William Paul “Billy” Keele arrived in Little Rock Tuesday morning.
After Keele enlisted in the U.S. Army Quartermaster Corps in 1940, he was assigned to the 33rd Quartermaster Truck Regiment in the Philippines.
Keele was captured two years later and forced to go through the Bataan Death March, going 65 miles with little to no food, water, or medical care; Keele died in captivity that same year…
