Dear Editor: As the Aug. 4 Madison Common Council meeting approaches, I reflect on the “distrust” that makes any change for the better nearly impossible.
It appears the the mayor distrusts the alders and vice versa. It appears the chief of police distrusts the mayor and alders, and vice versa.
It also appears the mayor, the alders and the chief of police all distrust the police oversight board and independent police monitor, and vice versa…
