(COLORADO SPRINGS) — The City of Colorado Springs said it has received two appeals of the City Planning Commission’s decision to deny previous appeals and move the project forward.
On Thursday, July 23, a meeting of the Planning Commission was held to decide whether Project Taurus, a planned data center by Raeden, would move forward despite multiple appeals. The previous appeals brought concerns regarding energy use, noise generation, light pollution, and water consumption, among others.

Ultimately, after more than 14 hours of discussion and debate, the Colorado Springs Planning Commission voted 6-2 to deny all appeals on Project Taurus. This decision did not signify that the data center was unquestionably happening; rather, that the development plan submitted to the Planning Department met legal requirements.
