NORWOOD, The Bronx (PIX11) — One person is dead after an explosion caused a massive fire inside a Bronx apartment building, officials confirmed.
Fire received a report of an explosion at 374 East 209th St. between Decatur Avenue and Parkside Place in Norwood just before 12:30 p.m. on Wednesday, officials said.

As firefighters battled the flames, the fire was upgraded to a 5-alarm fire just before 2 p.m. Citizen video showed multiple floors of the apartment building engulfed in smoke and flames as operations were ongoing.
