Erie firefighters battled a stubborn blaze Tuesday inside a historic building that’s undergoing extensive renovations.
They responded to the former Jones School in the 100 block of East 8th Street just before 3 p.m.

Inside, they found a fire between the floors. The deputy fire chief on scene said it was hidden and forced them to cut out numerous floors in the building.
