LEXINGTON, Ky. (FOX 56) — The United States Department of Health and Human Services Secretary is taking action against Kentucky nonprofit Network for Hope, Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. announced Wednesday. Of the 55 organ procurement organizations in the United States, Network for Hope is the sixteenth largest, serving Kentucky, parts of Indiana, Ohio, and West Virginia.

The department reported finding “repeated failures in clinical judgment” for organ donor patients following “extensive reviews.”
“Under the Biden administration, HHS has failed to hold organizations accountable when serious patient concerns emerged. Today, we are restoring that accountability. We will not tolerate organizations that compromise patient safety or betray the trust of donors or their families,” Kennedy said in a news conference in Lexington on Wednesday afternoon, Aug. 8.
