2 Illinois men arrested with 21 pounds of meth in Lake County, Ind.

LAKE COUNTY, Ind. (WGN) – Two Illinois men have been arrested and charged after troopers found 21 pounds of methamphetamine hidden inside their vehicle during a traffic stop in Lake County, Indiana.

The Indiana State Police said just after noon on Friday, July 31, troopers stopped a black Ford Escape after they saw it cross the solid white fog line near mile-marker 254 on I-65. The vehicle had an obscured Illinois license plate and pulled over on the 61st Avenue exit ramp.

The driver and passenger told troopers they did not speak English and communicated with troopers via translation software. Both of them gave troopers inconsistent travel explanations and also showed signs that they were nervous, according to investigators…
