SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO) — Joseph Roemmich is no longer the warden at the South Dakota State Penitentiary in Sioux Falls, Michael Winder, director of communications for the state’s Department of Corrections confirmed.

Tabatha Benting is serving as warden of the Jameson Prison and the State Penitentiary, Winder said in an email to KELOLAND News. Benting has been the warden of Jameson since August of 2025.
