ROCK RAPIDS—A 35-year-old Canton, SD, woman was arrested about 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 4, on a Lyon County warrant for false report to a public entity.
The arrest of Emma Lee McBride stemmed from her calling the Lyon County Sheriff’s Office in Rock Rapids about 4:40 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 25, and reporting her mother-in-law had swerved to miss a deer in the roadway and went into the south ditch of 180th Street about three miles east of Klondike.
Upon investigation, it was determined that McBride was a passenger in the 2012 Ford Focus and that her husband, who was the driver of that car, had swerved to miss a deer and went into the ditch…
