California murder suspect arrested in Portland area after roommate’s body found in shallow grave

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) – A California man was arrested in Clackamas County on Sunday for murdering his roommate whose body was found in a shallow backyard grave, according to authorities.

The case goes back to July 3, when Morongo Basin deputies in California responded to a missing person report in Yucca Valley.

The missing person, 61-year-old Daniel Howard Joslin, had not been seen or contacted family or friends for around 10 days, according to the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department.
