United States District Judge J. Philip Calabrese recently sentenced a Cleveland man to prison for his part in a conspiracy that trafficked illegal drugs from the U.S.-Mexico border to Ohio.
Sherman Thomas, 43, received a sentence of nearly 23 years after a four-day trial in June 2025, where a federal jury convicted him of conspiracy to distribute and possess with intent to distribute controlled substances; possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine; using or maintaining a drug premises; and possession of firearms and ammunition by a convicted felon.
