EAST LANSING, Mich. (WLNS) — A mother is speaking out against the East Lansing Police Department after watching video of her daughter being tased, handcuffed and punched by officers during an arrest over the weekend.
Video surfaced on social media on Sunday depicting 20-year-old Myana Collins being detained outside Harpers Restaurant and Brew Pub in downtown East Lansing, one multiple people and organizations like the NAACP Lansing Branch say is just another example of ELPD officers using excessive force against a Black person.
6 News obtained an exclusive interview with Collins’ mother, Shannon, who spoke with us on the condition we do not publish her last name.
