LEXINGTON, Ky. (FOX 56) — Lexington Mayor Linda Gorton is joining residents in expressing frustration over delays in Kentucky American Water’s Fontaine Road project.
Kentucky American Water has been working on a water main upgrade for several months, as part of the company’s overall $4.5 million investment into Lexington’s water main systems. Just in May, Gorton urged Kentucky American Water to put their “foot on the gas.”

Gorton says the water company has yet to provide a firm end date for the project. Additional concerns emerged last week when a private sewer line was reportedly damaged during the project.
“I have called the president of Kentucky American and, rather than setting a face-to-face meeting with Chevy Chase neighbors as I requested, he said they are planning to distribute information through doorhangers or sticky notes to people who are directly affected by the project,” Gorton said on Wednesday, Aug. 5. “That does not give neighbors an opportunity to ask questions.”…
