Wildfire smoke starts to clear Thurs. in Western Oregon, SW Wash. as temps reach 90 range

PORTLAND, Ore. (KATU) — Western Oregon will see a hot day Thursday, but thankfully the wildfire smoke that has been hanging over the region will start to clear.

Air quality alerts from the National Weather Service are expected to expire by 11 a.m.

“As winds shift onshore, wildfire smoke will gradually be pushed east of the Cascades, leading to improving air quality by this evening,” KATU Meteorologist Matt Gontarek said…
