Loganville Police Officer honored as Piedmont Walton’s August First Friday Hero

LOGANVILLE, Ga. — A Loganville police officer who risked her own life to rescue a man trapped inside a burning home has been recognized as Piedmont Walton Hospital’s August 2026 First Friday Hero.

Officer Crystal Cintron of the Loganville Police Department received the honor for her actions during a June 23 house fire on Bay Creek Road, where officials say her quick response saved a resident’s life.

According to Piedmont Walton Hospital, Officer Cintron was the first emergency responder to arrive at the scene around 9:30 a.m. She found flames shooting through the roof and heavy smoke pouring from the home…
