(KRON) — A 35-year-old man who authorities said went on a month-long armed robbery crime spree targeting South Bay convenience stores, smoke shops and motels was recently arrested, the San Jose Police Department announced Thursday.
Campbell resident Andrew Fiddler was identified as the suspect by detectives. Police said that on June 18 around 1:35 a.m., Fiddler entered a San Jose business in the 5800 block of Camden Avenue and brandished a firearm at an employee. The suspect grabbed cash and fled before officers arrived.
14-year-old on probation caught with stolen car in East Bay, sheriff says
Investigators said they connected Fiddler to five other armed robberies across San Jose businesses that occurred between June 30 and July 20, including:
- June 30: 2300 block of Stevens Creek Boulevard
- July 15: 1300 block of Blossom Hill Road
- July 17: 5800 block of Camden Avenue
- July 18: 2500 block of Fontaine Road
- July 20: 2400 block of Alvin Road
On July 21, Fiddler was taken into custody in San Jose. A search at an associated residence in the city uncovered evidence of the crimes, SJPD said.
