An 84-year-old man was walking through the Highbridge section of the Bronx on the morning of July 18 when, police say, an unidentified individual pushed him to the ground without warning, leaving him with bruising to his head and jaw. The attacker then fled on foot, and more than two weeks later, the suspect remains at large.
According to NYPD Crime Stoppers, the assault happened at approximately 10 a.m. at the intersection of Shakespeare Avenue and West 169th Street. The victim was simply walking through the area when the unidentified suspect shoved him to the pavement, according to the same bulletin, before running off toward parts unknown. No further description of the attacker has been released publicly.
