Harlan residents push back on proposed State Road 37 safety project ahead of public meeting

HARLAN, Ind. (WANE) — Some Harlan residents are raising concerns over a proposed Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) project along State Road 37, saying they support improving safety but question whether the current plan is the right solution.

INDOT is proposing a $45 million project that would widen paved shoulders along State Road 37 from two feet to eight feet, add left-turn lanes at the Cuba-Thimlar Road intersection and repave portions of the corridor.
