MOUNT PLEASANT, S.C. (WCSC) – Case materials from the South Carolina Department of Natural Resources’ investigation into the April Shem Creek boat crash that left a Citadel Cadet dead show the boat operator’s blood was not tested until hours after the original incident.
In June, SCDNR announced that Edward Marion Tavel III, 21, of Charleston County, is charged with involuntary manslaughter in connection with the crash.
Evan Andrew Greenleigh, 19, of Bethesda, Maryland, died from blunt force injuries in the boating accident, which occurred off King Street in Mount Pleasant on April 25. Several others on the boat were also injured, including Tavel, and were taken to the hospital…
