CHESAPEAKE, Va. (WAVY) – The Chesapeake Fire Department responded to an unoccupied house fire at 12:03 a.m. on Aug. 7. The house, located at the 200 block of Kalmar Drive in Battlefield, was under renovation at the time of the fire.
Firefighters arrived at the scene and reported smoke coming from the front of the structure. After deploying multiple hose lines and finding a fire in the crawl space, the fire was marked out at 1:23 a.m. No injuries were reported.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation…
