TEXARKANA, Ark. – A cyclospora outbreak linked to contaminated iceberg lettuce has now spread to 15 states, including Arkansas, prompting health officials to warn residents to watch for symptoms and follow food safety precautions.
The Arkansas Department of Health has confirmed cases of cyclospora infection in Miller County. Officials have not released the exact number because fewer than 10 local cases have been reported.
“We have been seeing some of this in the area. We have had a case here in Texarkana,” said Dr. Kyle Groom with Texarkana Emergency Center and Hospital.
