Two people from Colorado died Thursday (Aug. 6, 2026) in a two-vehicle crash four miles east of Deadwood, South Dakota.
Names of the those involved have not been released pending notification of family members.
Preliminary crash information from the South Dakota Highway Patrol indicates the driver of a 2009 Jeep Grand Cherokee– a 15 year old female from Sturgis– was traveling westbound on U.S. Highway 14A near mile marker 47. At the same time, the driver of a 2020 Harley Davidson Street Glide– a 59 year old male from Frederick, Colorado,– was traveling east and failed to negotiate a turn. The Harley Davidson crossed into the westbound lanes and collided with the Jeep. Both the driver and passenger of the Harley Davidson– a 54 year old woman from Frederick, CO,– sustained fatal injuries. Neither were wearing a helmet…
