SALT LAKE CITY (ABC4) — BYU mascot Cosmo the Cougar has been inducted into the Mascot Hall of Fame alongside four other mascots from across the nation.
A campaign with voters from 109 countries selected the Mascot Hall of Fame Class of 2026.The five inductees represent a diverse range of institutions and teams, including the University of South Carolina, the Denver Broncos, the University of Minnesota, the New York Mets, and Brigham Young University.

“Mascots create memories that last a lifetime. They inspire kids, young and old, unite communities, comfort people in difficult moments, and remind us that laughter is something we all share and need. Support from 109 countries is humbling. It proves mascots are genuinely global ambassadors of happiness.,” said Christopher Bruce, Co-Founder and Owner of the Mascot Hall of Fame.
