VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) — There are no Irish dancers or bagpipes at this tattoo festival, but there’s still a buzz in the air at the Virginia Beach Convention Center from a lone, old-school holdout as a silent swarm performs body art in a different way.
Quiet tattooing is a new trend on display at the 11th annual Virginia Beach Tattoo Festival, but at Anna Froehler’s table, you’ll still hear that familiar buzz.
“I’m just loyal to the coil,” Froehler said. “I’ve been doing this for 15 years, and this is the way that I learned and the way I feel comfortable. I know that everybody is really rapidly changing the way they tattoo.”
