A motorcycle rider was seriously injured after his bike struck a deer on Thursday afternoon.
A Douglas County Sheriff’s Office report said just before 5:20 p.m. the crash was called in, in the 10000 block of Buckhorn Road in the Dixonville area. Upon arrival, a deputy could see a deceased deer and crash debris spanning forward approximately 100 yards to where the rider came to a stop. Emergency medical personnel were on scene and transported the 40-year-old man to CHI Mercy Medical Center with serious injuries.
