PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) – Food & Wine recently published a list of the 16 best dishes the outlet’s writers had last month — naming two dishes from Oregon on the list.
“After talking about food, writing about food, and editing stories about food all day long, Food & Wine editors are absolutely eating well outside of the office. This July, we dined at over 100 restaurants around the country (and beyond), testing out hot culinary destinations and returning to our reliable standbys,” Food & Wine said of its list. “We ate hundreds of dishes, but there were only a handful that our editors couldn’t forget.”
The first Oregon dish named in the list: garlic-prosciutto croissants at Édeske Patisserie.
“Since the closure of New York’s iconic City Bakery, there has been a savory croissant–shaped hole in my heart. But when I stumbled upon Édeske Patisserie in Hood River, Oregon, I found a new exemplar. The clerk described the garlic-prosciutto croissant as Édeske’s take on a ham-and-cheese pastry, with garlic in the pastry dough.
